Ontario Univs. Get Springer Ebooks

By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 3/1/2008

Springer Science+Business Media is supplying the 20 members of Canada’s Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL) with a complete Springer eBook Collection 2005–2008. Springer said that the deal makes “over 12,000 Springer ebooks available to nearly 400,000 students and faculty.”

The Springer eBook Collection consists of textbooks, monographs, reference works, handbooks, book series, and encyclopedias.

“We are especially excited about this agreement because it provides the consortium with rights to load the Springer ebook content on OCUL’s own search systems. The Springer ebook content will be fully integrated with the significant e-journal collections already loaded on OCUL’s Scholars Portal platform,” said Alan Darnell, manager, OCUL Scholars Portal.
