ALA Midwinter Attendance Outpaces 2007 Meeting in Seattle

Norman Oder -- Library Journal, 1/13/2008

Despite concerns that it would be tough to top the attendance at the American Library Association's 2007 Midwinter Meeting in Seattle, the numbers in Philadelphia for this year's event are even better. ALA Executive Director Keith Fiels reported this morning that, as of yesterday, there were 9956 registrants and 2267 exhibitors, for a total of 12,223 attendees, while last year the figures were 9009 registrants and 2813 exhibitors, for a total of 11,822. The comparable total for the 2006 Midwinter Meeting in San Antonio was 10,525.
