French Med Info in ScienceDirect

By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 1/15/2008

Elsevier announced in December the addition of 45 French-language medical journals from its Elsevier Masson division to ScienceDirect. The publisher said that the titles, "including Feuillets de Radiologie, Journal de Chirurgie, and La Press Médicale, represent a wide range of high-quality journals and complement the 27 Éditions Scientifique et Médicales Elsevier titles already hosted on the platform."

19th and 20th centuries

The 45 titles date from the early 19th and 20th centuries and have strong ties with top French societies, including the Society of Rheumatology, the Society of Anaesthesiology, and the Society of Pediatrics.

Journal subjects range from anesthesiology to pharmacology; some titles include abstracts and articles in English. Subscribers will receive 2008 articles plus four years of back files.
