Gale Debuts Literature Criticism Online
By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 10/15/2007
Gale continues its push for its lit products with the debut of Literature Criticism Online, an amalgam of ten of the publisher's top literary series. Gale said that the database offers “centuries of analysis—the scholarly and popular commentary from books, journals, magazines, broadsheets, pamphlets, diaries, and newspapers,” which in print form would comprise hundreds of volumes that “would fill 230 feet of shelf space.” The tens of thousands of essays have been gleaned from Gale's series:
- Contemporary Literary Criticism
- Twentieth-Century Literary Criticism
- Nineteenth-Century Literature Criticism
- Literature Criticism from 1400–1800
- Shakespearean Criticism
- Classical and Medieval Literature Criticism
- Poetry Criticism
- Short Story Criticism
- Drama Criticism
- Children's Literature Review
Literature Criticism Online is fully cross-searchable within each series or across the entire database.
