NYPL/PPL Buy Rosen Database
By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 9/1/2007
Two more large city libraries have signed on for Rosen Publishing's Teen Health & Wellness database. The company August 7 announced that the New York Public Library (NYPL) and Phoenix Public Library (PPL) have contracted for the e-resource, launched earlier this year.
They join the Brooklyn, NY, and Omaha libraries already using the database, which provides “students, librarians, and educators with comprehensive curricular support and self-help tools on medical, health, and lifestyle topics that are important to young adults and their caregivers.” Subjects covered include diseases, drugs, alcohol, nutrition, fitness, mental health, and more. Along with text, the database has more than 400 illustrations, both photographs and diagrams.
