ProQuest MLS Program Open
By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 9/1/2007
ProQuest is soliciting American Library Association (ALA)–accredited North American library schools and overseas information science degree–granting institutions to participate in its August 1, 2007–July 31, 2008 Library School Program, which makes the company's reference tools available to students at no charge during the school term. ProQuest said the program is “aimed at supporting library education, allowing students to learn essential search skills on the data resources they are likely to encounter after graduation.”
Included in the program are ABI/INFORM, Black Studies Center, COS Research Support Services, CSA Illustrata: Natural Sciences, Environmental Sciences and Pollution Management, eLibrary, LISA: Library and Information Science Abstracts, Literature Online, ProQuest Historical Newspapers, ProQuest National Newspapers, ProQuest Research Library, SIRS, Sociological Abstracts, and Ulrich's Periodicals Directory Online.
Training available
ProQuest's sister organization, RefWorks, also has made its web-based research management, writing, and collaboration tool available for in-class instruction. Professional instruction teams are available for onsite and/or remote training to classes working with these products.
