Ex Libris Revamps Reporting Center
By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 6/15/2007
Ex Libris is now marketing ALEPH 500 Reporting Center (ARC), based on Cognos 8 software. According to the vendor, ARC creates “real-time reports and statistics on library activity by extracting data from the ALEPH integrated library system, building logical relationships between data elements, and loading this information into a data warehouse.” Ex Libris said the new release is much faster than its predecessor, and new features include the generation of follow-up reports that enable users to identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the data warehousing process.
It also offers more than 100 new predefined reports—designed according to customer specifications—that mine the ALEPH information stored in the data warehouse to allow ARC users to generate statistics based on different aspects of library activity. Staff can also create specific customized reports.
