Martha Bedard has been appointed Dean of the University of New Mexico Libraries, Albuquerque, effective August 1. Bedard is currently Associate Dean for Information and Collection Services, Texas A&M University Libraries, College Station.

Braulio Colón is the new General Manager of the Public Relations and Partnerships Department, Tampa–Hillsborough County Public Library System. Previously, he was Regional Director at the Florida Department of Education, Tallahassee.

Pam Deiters, Administrator at the Tinley Park Public Library (TPPL), IL, for the past 18 years, retired April 30. Rich Wolff, former Assistant Administrator at TPPL, succeeds her.

Susan Horton is the new Director, Trumbull Library System, CT. She has worked for 17 years at the Danbury Library, CT, most recently as Head of the Audio-Video Department.

George Jamison, Senior Librarian at the Davison Area Branch, Genesee District Library, Flint, MI, for the past five years, will retire at the end of June after a total of 27 years.

Bob Kieserman, Consultant and Professor of Business Administration with an MLS degree, has acquired CenturyLane, a consulting firm that has worked with libraries primarily in Eastern Pennsylvania for the past five years. The new firm, Bob Kieserman & Company, Cherry Hill, NJ, will focus on library communications and marketing, human resources, budget management, and strategic planning.

Zeth Lietzau has been appointed Associate Director, Library Research Service (LRS), Colorado State Library. Lietzau served as Research Analyst of LRS since 2003 while working as Information Services Librarian, Belmar Library, Jefferson County Public Library, Lakewood, CO, since October 2004; both positions were part-time. His new position is full time.

Priscilla Greco McFerren, Director, Hanover Public Library, PA, will retire August 24. Director since 1973, she presided over the library’s conversion to a computerized catalog and its 2006 expansion.

Elaina Norlin has joined the OCLC CAPCON staff as Manager of New Initiatives and Outreach. She comes from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, where she served as a Senior Program Officer from 2003 to 2006. Norlin was a 2002 LJ Mover & Shaker.

Patricia Patterson has been named Associate Library Director at the Nimitz Library, U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD. She most recently was Head of the Reference Department.

Catherine Quinlan has been appointed Dean of the University of Southern California (USC) Libraries, Los Angeles, effective August 1. Quinlan comes to USC after more than a decade at University of British Columbia, Vancouver, where she served concurrently as University Librarian and Managing Director of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. Her appointment follows an international search that drew approximately 55 candidates.

Suxiao Hu, a Cataloger at Sprague Library, Montclair State University, NJ, has been named Head of the Acquisitions/Collection Development Department.

Cindy Suter, Director of the Bentonville Public Library (BPL), AR, resigned effective May 31 to devote her full attention to her art gallery, studio, and supply business. Suter became Director in 2001, the only BPL staffer with an MLS degree; now the library has two more MLS holders.

Lorie Tonti has joined the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library System as Principal Librarian/Youth Services Coordinator of School Age Services. She was Head of Youth Services, Lakes Regional Library, Lee County Library System, FL.
