Grand Valley Joins Encore
By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 5/1/2007
Grand Valley State University, MI, is the latest academic school to come aboard as a development partner for Innovative Interfaces' Encore, its new library services platform. Even though Grand Valley isn't currently an Innovative customer, Lee C. Van Orsdel, dean of university libraries, said the facility chose “to become an Encore development partner because we think the product is going to be hugely important to us. Encore will give us the tools to present the library with intelligent simplicity on the web. That's what draws users to Google, and it's the concept that we believe will draw our students into our collection and databases.”
Encore features faceted searching by multiple parameters, a tag cloud, relevance-ranking, integrated federated search results, and more.
