Springer Expands Editorial Manager
By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 4/15/2007
Springer Science+Business Media is expanding Editorial Manager, its online peer-review system, to include an additional 600 journals by 2010. Springer said the expansion includes software that “automatically links bibliographies of author-submitted manuscripts to PubMed and CrossRef during the peer review process.”
Simple and automatic
Author bibliographies will be reconfigured automatically to conform to Springer’s formats, and “validated XML will be transferred to Springer’s journal production system.” The new functionality is designed to simplify the manuscript formatting for publication and facilitate the editorial tasks of reviewers and editors.
“The linked bibliography provides a convenient way to assess the quality of the authors’ citations and to drill down to explore cited literature,” Springer said.
