LexisNexis Adds AGent Search
By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 2/15/2007
Auto-Graphics has formed a new partnership with LexisNexis for “the integration and deployment of” Auto-Graphics's AGent Search federated search solution into LexisNexis Academic. According to Auto-Graphics, the deal will let “students and faculty search LexisNexis content together with other sources through a single interface.” AGent allows searchers to comb multiple databases simultaneously and deliver aggregated results, with LexisNexis records displayed as part of the larger results set. The two companies have beta tested the marriage, and the joint effort is deployed at a number of academic facilities, including Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven; Capitol Community College, Hartford; and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY. The LexisNexis repository includes more than 6000 news, business, legal, medical, and reference publications.
