New York Times Librarian Awards
By Norman Oder -- Library Journal, 1/15/2007
The 2006 New York Times Librarian Awards have been announced, and the six-year-old program has inaugurated a sibling effort to honor three academic librarians. The 22 public librarian winners (down from 27 last year) and three academic librarians each received $2500 and a commemorative plaque at an awards ceremony at the Times December 13. The winners, who were selected by a committee of library luminaries, were grouped by city, state, and region, with an emphasis on the Times’s home territory.
