Libraries Urged To Apply for Alibris Collection Award

-- Library Journal, 10/25/2006

Online used book dealer Alibris again is sponsoring the Alibris Collection Award of $3000 worth of books to an academic, public, special, or K–12 library to support “specific collection development projects that advance the mission, priority areas, and goals of the selected library.” Now in its fourth year, the purpose of the award, the book dealer said, is to “help provide books for otherwise underfunded libraries with replacement projects, retrospective collection development projects, or routine collection building needs.” Each applying library must provide an online Donate-A-Book wishlist of the desired titles along with the “required statements of interest concerning the desired collection and needs of the applying library.” Full details on the grant are located here.
