Philip Cherry is the new Director of the Onslow County Public Library System, Jacksonville, NC. Cherry previously was Director of the Durham County Library, NC.

Trudi Bellardo Hahn has resigned as Executive Director of NCLIS (National Commission on Libraries and Information Science). Prior to her appointment in 2004, which she began as Interim Executive Director, Hahn was Manager of Library User Education Services and Adjunct Professor, College of Information Studies, University of Maryland, College Park.

Michael Hamlett is the new Director of the Jackson-George Regional Library System, Pascagoula, MS, effective June 1. He most recently was Director of the Miles City Public Library, MT.

Robyn Hammer-Clarey has joined the Whitehall Public Library, Pittsburgh, as Director. She comes from the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, where she was Manager of Teen Services. She replaces Suzanna Krispli, who has become Director of the Hampton Community Library, Allison Park, PA.

Irene Hoffman is now Executive Director, OCLC CAPCON, an OCLC service center located in Washington, DC. She comes from Georgetown University Library, Washington, DC, where she was Associate University Librarian for Personnel Planning and Assessment.

Kris Johnson became the AskColorado Coordinator at the Colorado State Library, effective June 28. Johnson previously served as Information Literacy/Instruction Librarian at California State University, Chico.

Emma Lee Lahmeyer, Director of the Keokuk Public Library, IA, retired on June 30. She had been with the library for 32 years and held the position of Director since 1998. She is replaced by Emily Rohlfs, who was Director of the Fort Madison Public Library, IA, since August 2005.

Daria Parry is now Branch Chief for the Division of Library Development Services, Maryland State Department of Education in Baltimore. She formerly was Agency Manager with Montgomery County Library, Rockville, MD.

Obituary

Byung Moo “Ben” Lee, Dean of Library Services, Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU), Savannah, GA, died on May 20 at the age of 68. Lee served AASU for 25 years, first as Head of Technical Services and then as Library Director in 1991. He was appointed University Librarian in 2000 and Dean of Library Services in 2006. Lee was responsible for planning the library's $5 million renovation, completed just weeks after his death.
