May is AAP’s Latino Books Month

-- Library Journal, 5/10/2006

For the third year running, the Association of American Publishers (AAP) has designated May Latino Books Month, and is asking librarians, booksellers, and others to “encourage people in their communities to read books by and for Latinos, both in English and Spanish.” To spur participation, AAP’s Task Force on Publishing Latino Voices for America is offering a Resource Kit consisting of a Latino Books Summer Reading list for all ages, a Publishing Latino Voices Brochure with samplings of Latino works, Get Caught Reading/Ajá, Leyendo! posters, a how-to sheet on starting a Spanish-language reading group, and more. To receive a kit, email AAP’s Tina Jordan (tjordan@publishers.org).
