AGent Adds Book-Buying Power
By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 4/15/2006
Auto-Graphics has added a book-purchasing component to its AGent platform, which the company confirms will allow “libraries to offer online book-buying functionality to their patrons while sharing in sales revenue.” The program, developed in conjunction with Baker & Taylor (B&T), allows patrons to order titles either by using a “shop” icon on the library’s homepage or by searching the facility’s OPAC and opting to buy the item (book, audio, etc.) rather than check it out. “All correspondence, shipping, and transaction notices are completely branded with the library’s name and contact details,” said Auto-Graphics. B&T also ships directly to the customer.
