Oprah Hires James Frey To Write Her Biography

-- Library Journal, 4/1/2006

In a bizarre turn of events, Oprah Winfrey named disgraced author James Frey her official biographer. “He lied so well in his own memoir, I thought he could do the same for me,” she announced. Winfrey has had a rocky relationship with Frey, initially praising him, then savaging him in front of 60 million TV viewers (“who looks stupid now, punk” she commented later) after evidence showed he lied like Nixon when recounting his exploits as a hardened convict. The book has been set for an April 1 release under the title A Million Little Pieces of Cake. (See WebExclusive review)
