Two Finalists Named for St. Paul PL

-- Library Journal, 3/3/2006

The St. Paul Public Library, MN, is looking for a new director, after Gina La Force resigned last March, "abruptly" in the description of the Pioneer Press. The newspaper, citing an email to the staff from interim director Kathleen Flynn, reported that the two finalists are Ann Hutton, executive director of SELCO (Southeastern Libraries Cooperating), Rochester, MN and Melanie Huggins, the youth services director for the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, NC. Hutton is a former head of the Minnesota Library Council. Huggins is on the steering committee of group working after-school programs—an important issue to St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman. A final decision is expected in early March.
