-- Library Journal, 2/20/2006

SirsiDynix has established a new awards program "to recognize libraries for innovative uses of new technology to improve their user communities." The Building Better Communities Awards will select five North American libraries in the vendor's customer base, which each will receive $10,000 "for creativity and accomplishments in serving their user communities through technology." Winners will be selected by a panel of library administrators and managers from public and academic, consortia, K–12, and corporate libraries. Deadline for nominations, which can be submitted online, is April 14, 2006.
