Long-time LJ/SLJ Associate Publisher Ron Shank has been bumped up to the job of publisher. In naming him to the post, Bill McGorry, executive VP of the Publishing Group, said Shank “has demonstrated a key commitment to the library community.” A 25-year RBI veteran, Shank has deep roots in libraries. In his new role, Shank will oversee the editorial departments for the magazines, including Library Hotline, and their electronic offshoots like Críticas and work with them to launch new initiatives, as well as remain ad sales director for both publications. He succeeds Bill McGorry, who remains EVP of the Publishing Group and publisher of Publishers Weekly.
