AAP Names Book Expo's Tina Jordan VP

-- Library Journal, 1/10/2006

The Association of American Publishers (AAP) January 4 announced that Tina Jordan, currently the director of Public Relations/Special Events for Book Expo America (BEA), is succeeding Kathryn Blough as VP starting January 17. Blough is leaving her post after more than nine years to pursue teaching. Jordan told LJ she will be "overseeing select committees out of the New York office. That includes the Get Caught Reading Campaign, the Trade Executive Committee, educational campaigns, all of the activities in coordination with BEA, the Small and Independent Publishers activities, and I also will work with the Trade Library Committee (for trade publishers who sell to libraries) on expanding the Authors at Your Library program. AAP partners with libraries for various initiatives including international freedom, literacy, and reading." She also will be working with the American Library Association (ALA) on bringing publishers into the newly revived library business alliance as well as working on the Authors at Your Library database. Jordan revealed that ALA President Michael Gorman is speaking at AAP's annual meeting March 14.
