On top of a $10,000 donation to the Red Cross, ProQuest is coming to the assistance of schoolchildren displaced by Hurricane Katrina. The publisher has pledged $1 million in Voyager Learning reading and math instructional materials and complimentary four-month subscriptions to Reading A–Z and Raz-Kids books. ProQuest said that it would aim to provide Voyager materials to current Voyager customers schooling displaced students, as those facilities already are trained in their use. The Reading A–Z and Raz-Kids offer is open "to any educator serving students" affected by the disaster. The offer runs until year's end. Additionally, Reading A–Z titles also are being distributed to families relocated to Houston's Astrodome and the city's other shelters.
