Pikes Peak Seeks Security in SirsiDynix

-- Library Journal, 9/12/2005

The Pikes Peak Library District, Colorado Springs, CO has selected SirsiDynix's Secured Resources service "as part of its disaster recovery and backup plan," the vendor said. The area is particularly vulnerable to lightning strikes causing both power outages and surges. The service means that the vendor takes responsibility for guaranteeing service by storing backup tapes and verifying backup routines. If a total system failure occurs, the vendor also promises quick restoration. Along with Secured Resources, SirsiDynix also offers an Emergency Application Service Provider option "in event of longer-term loss of hardware availability."
