Anne Becker has become the first woman Chief Executive, London Public Library, Ont. She was the Midwestern Ontario President and Chief Executive, Canadian Automobile Association.

Francis J. Buckley Jr. has been appointed Interim Director, District of Columbia Public Library. He has been serving in various positions in the American Library Association since his departure as Superindentent of Documents, U.S. Government Printing Office, in 2003.

Michael B. Clegg, Branch Operations Manager and former Manager, Historical Genealogy Department, Allen County Public Library, Fort Wayne, IN, is the 2005 recipient of the Genealogical Publishing Co./History Section Award presented by the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA).

Eugene Hainer has been appointed the new Deputy State Librarian and Director, Colorado State Library, Denver, succeeding Nancy Bolt, who is leaving after 18 years of service. Hainer was Head of Library Development at the State Library since 2000.

Mignon Morse is now Public Services Administrator, Nicholson Memorial Library System, Garland, TX. She was Director, Rita and Truett Smith Public Library, Wylie, TX.

Kathy Perinoff has retired as Assistant Director, Palm Beach County Library System, FL, after 30 years of service.

Donna Taylor will become the new Town Librarian, Bridgeville Public Library, PA, succeeding Elaine Downing, who retired after 18 years in the position. Taylor comes with a 20-year career in librarianship.

Tanner Wray is the new Director of Public Services, University of Maryland Libraries, College Park. He was Head of Access Services at the libraries.

Obituary

Gladys Griffin Dunlap, the first Librarian of the Belmont Public Library, NC, from 1960–74, died on April 13 at the age of 97.

Joseph Myron Jacobstein, former Director, Stanford University Law School Library, 1963–87, and President, American Association of Law Libraries, 1978–79, died at the age of 85.

Laura Elizabeth Hudson Ling, Reference Librarian, Socastee Memorial Library, Myrtle Beach, FL, died on April 8 at the age of 43.

Mary Parham Raines, a retired Librarian, Queens University of Charlotte, NC, for 25 years, died on April 15 at the age of 89.
