“Blog People” Fight Back, Creatively

-- Library Journal, 3/24/2005

First came American Library Association (ALA) president-elect Michael Gorman’s denunciation of the “blog people.” Then came the backlash from bloggers and other observers, both inside and outside the library. Along with that have come some creative responses. Several library bloggers, including Karen Schneider, a member of the ALA council, have encouraged fellow bloggers to adopt a BlogPerson logo, and the logo designer also offers a BlogPeople version. And the “Curmudgeony Librarian” has even begun to offer “Blog Person” merchandise, including t-shirts, mousepads, and buttons. ALA conferences may never be the same.
