St. Paul PL Director Resigns, Misses Canada
-- Library Journal, 3/16/2005
Gina La Force, who has spent three years as director of the St. Paul Public Library, MN, has resigned, telling the Pioneer Press that she missed her native Canada. "It was a great period of time, and I greatly enjoyed my time in St. Paul." La Force and Deputy Mayor Dennis Flaherty called the departure amicable. In 2003, the library gained its own levy authority. Said Peter Pearson, president of the Friends of the St. Paul Public Library, “A change in director won't have an impact on all the things that are making the library wonderful.” Kathleen Flynn, library services manager, has been named acting director.
