Ingenta Expands Infotrieve Deal

Ingenta content to be indexed by Infotrieve web crawler

By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 3/15/2005

Ingenta and Infotrieve have deepened their existing relationship: the duo announced in February that Ingenta-hosted content is now being indexed by the latter's full-text crawler. According to Infotrieve, the deal will allow it "to provide full-text article searches via its discovery research portals, increasing the depth of discovery resources for Infotrieve customers and generating additional document delivery traffic for Ingenta-hosted publishers." Ingenta primarily provides technology solutions and services for the academic and scientific publishing and information industries, while Infotrieve specializes in content software and information services for the science industry.

Connect Premium

Ingenta additionally has launched a new web service and added new publishers to its offerings. IngentaConnect Premium mates favorite features such as email alerts and custom gateways with enhancements, including a one-click subscription activation, subscribed content-only searching, customized library branding, and advanced statistics. Ingenta has also cut distribution deals for the publications of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, Water Environment Federation, Society of Competitive Intelligence, and CSF Medical Communications, among others.
