Sirsi Signs South African Law Lib.
Johannesburg's Constitional Court to install Unicorn system/iBistro

The Constitutional Court of South Africa is the latest special facility to contract with Sirsi Corporation for the installation of a Unicorn system. According to the vendor, the court, which is located in Johannesburg, is "implementing a state-of-the-art virtual library that will extend its resources to the legal community, both locally and internationally."
The contract also includes Sirsi's iBistro and Hyperion Digital Media Archive, which will help the facility build a web gateway for legal researchers to access court decisions. The Unicorn system is being installed on a Sun Solaris server, and Sirsi's SmartPORT will be incorporated to snag bibliographic data from Z39.50 sources worldwide.
The pipes are callingIn another overseas special library deal, the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Glasgow, also has opted for Unicorn to replace its existing system at the facility's Whittaker Library. The installation will be on a Microsoft Windows 2000 platform and will incorporate Sirsi's WorkFlows graphical user interface for cataloging, authority control, circulation, acquisitions, and serials control, as well as SmartPORT.
