Paul Beavers has been named Director of Information Services, Wayne State University (WSU) Library System, Detroit. He was Interim Director of the Purdy/Kresge Library at WSU since 2000.

Rajwant Chilana is now South Asian Studies Librarian, Asian Library, University of Illinois Library at Urbana-Champaign. He was Indic Librarian, Asian Library, University of British Columbia, Vancouver.

Rodney Franco has been named Librarian, St. Andrews Branch, Richland County Public Library (RCPL), Columbia, SC. He has been with the library since 2001. Ellan Jenkinson is now Extension Services Librarian, RCPL. She was Librarian, St. Andrews Branch, since 2000. Ron Stieg has also been named Librarian, St. Andrews Branch, RCPL. He has been with the library since 2002 and also serves in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Jennifer Jung Gallant is now Manager of Branches and Community Services, Elyria Public Library System, OH. She was Medical Librarian, EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria.

Thomas Garnett is now Assistant Director, Digital Library and Information Systems, Smithsonian Institution Libraries (SIL), Washington, DC. He has been with SIL since 1983. Martin Kalfatovic is the first Head of the New Media Office. He has been at SIL since 1993 and also serves on the adjunct faculty at the School of Library and Information Science, Catholic University of America, Washington, DC. Sherry Kelley was promoted to Assistant Director for Technical Services and Administration at SIL. Kelley, a nationally known expert in the field of cataloging and metadata standards, was Head of the Cataloging Services Department. Mary Augusta Thomas was promoted to the new position of Associate Director for Reader Services and Strategic Planning. She has been with SIL since 1976 and is currently a member of the American Library Association Council.

Geneva Pullen has been appointed Interim Director, Lexington Public Library, KY, following the retirement of Ronald P. Steensland. Formerly Deputy Director, Pullen has worked at the library since 1966.

Ellen Rauch is now Director, Somerville Public Library, MA. She was Director, Gleason Public Library, Carlisle, MA.

J. Daniel Vann III has been named Interim Director, William Smith Morton Library, Union Theological Seminary & Presbyterian School of Christian Education, Richmond, VA. He had retired as Dean of Library Services, Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, in 1999.

Francie Davis, Assistant Professor and Reference Librarian, Dowling College Library, Oakdale, NY, died on March 4 in a plane crash, along with her husband and daughter. She was with the library since 1995.
