Diana Chapin has been named Executive Director, Queens Library Foundation, Jamaica, NY. She was First Deputy Commissioner/Executive Director of the Water Board for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection from 1996 through 2002.

Sally Felix was appointed Director, Siouxland Libraries, Sioux Falls, SD. She was Administrator, Lackawanna County Library System, Scranton, PA.

Joseph H. Green has been selected as Library Director, Kansas City Public Library, MO. He succeeds Dan Bradbury, who retired after 19 years with the library. Green was Director, Richmond Public Library, CA, as well as City Librarian there for 61/2 years. Bradbury was LJ's 1991 Librarian of the Year.

Tracie Hall has joined the American Library Association (ALA) as Director, Office for Diversity, Chicago. She was Community Librarian, Albany Branch, Hartford Public Library, CT. She was among ALA's first class of Spectrum Scholars.

Vickie Hartzell has been named Interim Executive Director, Cuyahoga County Public Library, Parma, OH. She has been with the library since 1976.

John Kallenberg has retired as County Librarian, Fresno County Public Library, CA, after a 27-year tenure there.

Barbara Keiser was appointed to the newly created position of Assistant Director, Community Services, Eastern Monroe Public Library, PA.

Annette Morris has been appointed Brittle Books Coordinator, University of Illinois Library at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). She was Program Manager, ATLIS Systems, Silver Spring, MD. Miranda Beaven Remnek has joined UIUC as Head of the Slavic and East European Library. She formerly served as Bibliographer for Russian and Central European Studies, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.

Hee-sook Shin is now Korean Studies Librarian, C.V. Starr East Asian Library, Columbia University Libraries, New York. She was Non-Roman Languages Coordinator, Ohio State University Library, Columbus. Matthew Selsky was appointed Systems Programmer, Academic Information Systems' (AcIS), Computing Systems Division at Columbia.

Obituaries

Barbara Coburn, Assistant Professor Emerita at the University of Illinois Library, Urbana-Champaign, died on January 14 at the age of 85. She had retired as Acquisitions Bibliographer and Assistant Professor of Library Administration in 1981.

John J. Farley, Professor Emeritus at the State University of New York at Albany since 1985, died on January 3 at the age of 82. His commitment to library science education spanned more than 40 years.
