Moschovitis Group's web-based TOBIN streamlines production

The Moschovitis Group, which offers both book packaging and technology consulting, has launched a new project aimed to streamline the production of multicontributor reference works. While most publishers have homegrown databases to track the various stages of scheduling and editing, Moschovitis's TOBIN is web-based, which allows remote users easier access to the database.
Also, Moschovitis, which has its own Internet division, maintains the infrastructure. So far, Sage Reference is the first client with an enterprise subscription, which allows for work on perhaps ten projects, while other publishers are trying TOBIN on a per project basis. The price ranges from $2500–$3000 a month for an enterprise subscription and $300–$400 a month for a project. In both cases, contracts are for a minimum of three years.
