Kim Charlson has been named Director, Perkins Braille and Talking Book Library, Perkins School for the Blind, Watertown, MA. She had been serving as Acting Director since July 2001 and was Service Management Librarian/Assistant Director since 1985.

Dorothy Christiansen has retired after 28 years as Head of the M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives, University at Albany Libraries, State University of New York. Amy Cooper has been named Special Collections Librarian, University of Iowa Libraries, Iowa City. She was Assistant Professor/Archivist and Special Collections Librarian at the I.D. Weeks Library, University of South Dakota, Vermillion.

Elizabeth Dracoulis has been named Director, Reader Services, National Library of Australia, Canberra. Since December 2000 she has been at the library's National Coordination Support Branch assisting in the establishment of collection digitization projects.

Judith Fox has been named Associate Dean for Access, Bibliographic, and Information Services, Washington University Libraries, St. Louis. B.J. Johnston has been appointed Associate Dean for Collections and Departmental Libraries. Virginia Toliver has been named Associate Dean for Human Resources and Staff Development Program. All three were Senior Managers at the libraries.

Pamela Hogue has been named Manager, Homestead Branch Library, Miami-Dade Public Library System, FL. She was Assistant Manager, Miami Lakes/Palm Springs North Branch.

Laurie Macrae has been appointed Manager, Mira Mesa Branch Library, San Diego Public Library. She was Director, Taos Public Library, NM, and President of the New Mexico Library Association, 2000–01.

Mary Mayer-Hennelly has been named Associate Dean, Learning Resources at Tidewater Community College, Norfolk, VA. She was Assistant Director, Norfolk Public Library.

Barbara O'Hara has been named Adult Services Coordinator, Maricopa County Library District (MCLD), Phoenix. She was Adult Services Librarian, Free Library of Philadelphia. Joy Brassington has been appointed Manager and Interim Coordinator, North Central Regional Library, MCLD. She was Deputy County Librarian, Alameda County Library, Fremont, CA. Marcia Kull-Sunquist has been named Manager, Laveen Branch Library, MCLD. She was Head of Adult and Special Services, Kewanee Public Library District, IL.

Edward Osowski has retired as Manager, Frank Branch, Houston Public Library, TX. He was manager for 12 years and with the library since 1976.

Bill Payne has been named Reference Librarian, Library and Information Access, San Diego State University. He was Assistant Archivist, Special Collections and University Archives.

Diane Perushek has been appointed University Librarian, University of Hawaii at Manoa Libraries. She was Assistant University Librarian, Collection Management, Northwestern University Library, Evanston, IL.

Hendle Rumbaut has retired from the Marketing and Communications Department, Austin Public Library, TX, after 27 years of service.

Mary Jo Tuchschmidt has been named Supervisor, Mid-County Branch Library, St. Louis County Library. She was in Reference at the Headquarters Branch.

OBITUARIES

James Dickson, retired Head of Enoch Pratt Free Library's downtown Arts Division, Baltimore, died in December. He was 85. Dickson had retired after 32 years of service.

Carl Oscar Peterson, retired teacher and librarian at Governors State University, University Park, IL, died in December. He was 80. Peterson had retired after 21 years of service.

Mary Lorraine Sorenson, former Statistical Librarian for Piper Jaffray, Minneapolis, died in December. She was 88.
