Final Wave of Funding Letters Sent by SLD

The Schools and Libraries Division of the Universial Service Administrative Co. has issued its tenth and final wave of funding commitment decisions for the 1998 program year, involving more than $257 million. This means that funding commitment decision letters will go to the 6 percent of in-the-window applicants who had not yet heard from the SLD. Letters will also go out to those applicants whose internal connections requests were deemed "as yet unfunded" until this wave. Approved internal connections requests made by those libraries and schools garnering discounts at levels of 70 percent or higher will be funded. Total funding commitments are $1.66 billion.
