Fugitive PA Librarian Turns Herself In

Two weeks after her mysterious disappearance, Dorothy "Dot" Corbett, Director of Bethel Park Library, PA, turned herself in to police, reported the March 2 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. After library officials conducted an audit, police found that she wrote six checks from a library account to a fictitious agency, the Library Bureau, and was charged with theft of $27,500 in missing funds. Corbett had been in Jacksonville, Fla., but police had no other details. Corbett, 57, faces a preliminary hearing April 1, the newspaper reported March 3, adding that she had no comment.
