ALA Copyright Ace Eisgrau Moving on to Gun Control
Staff -- Library Journal, 2/22/1999
Adam Eisgrau, Legislative Counsel for the American Library Association's (ALA) Washington Office, will be leaving his post with ALA to begin work in early March for Hand Gun Control, Inc., the gun-control lobby sponsored by Sarah and Jim Brady. Eisgrau was a key player in the library community's lobbying efforts, negotiations, and crucial testimony on several pieces of crucial copyright and intellectual property legislation in the last four years. ALA's Committee on Legislation recognized Eisgrau's work at the ALA Midwinter Meeting, held at January 29-February 4 in Philadelphia. "Eisgrau" has effectively represented ALA on a broad range of national and international copyright and intellectual property issues, bringing ALA's goals in this arena to policy tables and media and public attention. He has successfully communicated to a wide audience the importance of fair use of copyrighted materials in a digital environment."
