Mandel Moves from Columbia To NYU

Carol Mandel, Deputy University Librarian at Columbia University,NY, will become the new Dean of Libraries at New York Universityeffective mid-April. Mandel replaces Carlton Rochell, who is retiringthis year after 22 years in the position. Mandel was the Director ofTechnical and Networked Information Services at Columbia beforebecoming Deputy University Librarian in 1993. She also served as Associate Executive Director at ARL from 1979 to 1983. As dean atNYU, Mandel will oversee all of NYU's libraries, NYU Press, andCampus Media Services.
