Pritchard Named University Librarian at UC-Santa Barbara
Staff -- Library Journal, 1/25/1999
Sarah Pritchard, director of libraries at Smith College, Northampton, MA, will become university librarian at UC Santa Barbara on April 28, filling a position that's been vacant since Joseph A. Boisse retired last year. "The whole participation in the UC system will be one exciting part of the job," said Pritchard. "The system has a lot going on -- with the California Digital Library and other initiatives -- so to be the director in any UC library right now is a real privilege." Pritchard, who has been director at Smith since 1992, just completed two terms as a member of the Council of the American Library Association and chaired several Council committees including the Structure Revision Task Force and the Committee on Organization.
