Marx/Engels Letters Found in China's National Library

Staff -- Library Journal, 1/18/1999

China's National Library announced this week that it has several heretofore unknown letters by Karl Marx and Frederick Engels in its collection. The letters were acquired during the 1950s by Huan Xiang, a diplomat stationed at his country's embassy in London who collected hand-written letters. The letters are being housed in the library's most advanced special collections area, where humidity and temperature are kept constant. The letters are said to be in black ink and quite clear.
