Staff -- Library Journal, 1/18/1999

San Diego County, CA, has launched a campaign to win voter approval for Proposition L, a five-year, .25 percent sales tax for library improvement. If the public embraces the plan in the March 2 vote, the county's 79 libraries will share an estimated $423 million generated by the tax between now and 2004.
