Library Rankings Generate Local Ink
Staff -- Library Journal, 1/11/1999
The recent effort to rank American public libraries, Hennen's American Public Library Rating Index (see previous LJ Digital story), has generated some spinoff publicity, as local newspapers have seized on the Index to cite high-ranking libraries in their midst. The Akron Beacon-Journal ran a story noting that Ohio ranked first among all states and that the Twinsburg Public Library was second in its population category. The Columbus Dispatch ran a story on the Columbus Metropolitan Library, which ranked third in its population category.
