Washington Library Filtering Net Access to Kids

Staff -- Library Journal, 2/9/1998

The board of the Everett Public Library, Washington, has voted to filter access in the children's room when the library launches Internet access this spring, according to the Everett Herald. The filter has not yet been chosen. The policy, which will permit minors to use terminals elsewhere in the library, is similar to that in the nearby King County Library System, while the neighboring Sno-Isle Regional Library System offers open Internet access.
