Boise PL Director Melton Resigns

Staff -- Library Journal, 2/9/1998

Boise Public Library, ID, Director Lynn Melton resigned her position in late January. Library Board President Ed Simmerman told the press the resignation was accepted "regretfully," adding that "I have nothing bad to say about the way the library has been run under her tenure...we're going to miss her." Melton's decision came as a surprise and her reasons for retiring remain a mystery. Without providing any concrete reasons for her action, Melton's resignation letter simply stated that, "The time has come for me to move in a different direction with my life." Boise officials unanimously praised Melton.
