Arkansas Senate Rejects Filter Bill

Though the Arkansas House of Representatives passed a bill February 7 that would require all public schools and libraries to block "harmful to minors" material on computers "frequently or regularly used by a minor," the Senate Techonology and Legislative Affairs Committee has blocked the legislation. Some opponents argued that filters don't block all harmful material and can restrict access to some educational sites, according to the Associated Press.
