Oliver, Stripling, and Wong Elected to ALA Executive Board
Staff -- Library Journal, 1/29/2001
Councilors of the American Library Association (ALA) elected three of their members to sit on the ALA Executive Board. Kent Oliver, Barbara Stripling, and Patricia (Patty) Wong were selected from a field of six candidates that also included Billy Beal, Charles Kratz, and Pamela Klipsch. Oliver and Wong, who received the largest number of votes, will be seated after the Annual Meeting in San Francisco in June, and will serve three-year terms. Stripling was seated immediately after the election results were announced at the Midwinter Meeting in Washington, DC, to complete the unexpired term (2001-2002) of Liz Bishoff who was elected ALA Treasurer.
