New Push Coming for LSTA Funds

Staff -- Library Journal, 1/22/2001

Library advocates are poised to push for a huge increase in LSTA funding, from below $200 million to more than $500 million. "It's really a matter of equity," said Emily Sheketoff, director of the ALA Washington Office. "Successful programs should be available to everyone, not just where they're pilots." The proposal also requests that one-half of one percent of LSTA funds go to the Institute for Museum and Library Services for evaluation of the impact.
