B&T Chair Richards Resigns
Staff -- Library Journal, 1/15/2001
Craig Richards, Baker & Taylor's (B&T) CEO for nearly nine years, resigned his post January 12. In a memo to staff, Richards said that his decision "is based entirely on my personal desire to head in a new direction.... I am convinced the time is right for me to move on," although he did not elaborate on what that "new direction" would be. B&T recently appointed Gary Rautenstrauch president and chief operating officer, and Richards said that all personnel who reported to him will now report to Rautenstrauch. In April 2000, George Coe also joined B&T as president of its institutional operation.
