Hope Tillman Elected SLA President

Hope Tillman is the new president-elect of the Special Libraries Association (SLA), in election results announced on March 3. She is director of libraries at Babson College, Babson Park, MA. A 26-year member of SLA, Tillman has served on its Board of Directors, was president of the Boston chapter, and chaired the Information Technology Division. She and the other newly elected members of SLA's Board of Directors will be installed June 14 at the 91st Annual Conference in Philadelphia. Richard Geiger, library director of the San Francisco Chronicle, was elected Treasurer. Serving as directors are Lucy Lettis, principal and director of business information services with Arthur Andersen LLP, New York City, and David Stern, director of science libraries and information services at Yale University, New Haven, CT. Serving as Chapter Cabinet chair-elect will be Daille Pettit, director of information services, American Hotel & Motel Association, Washington, DC. Susan Klopper, director of the Andersen Business Research Center, Arthur Andersen LLP, Atlanta, GA, will be Division Cabinet chair-elect. Several current SLA officers will assume new positions at the conclusion of the Philadelphia conference. Donna Scheeder, Library of Congress, becomes president as Susan DiMattia, Editor of Library Hotline and Corporate Library Update, both Library Journal publications, becomes past-president. Juanita Richardson of Richardson, Jalakas & Associates, Toronto, will be chapter cabinet chair and Doris Helfer, California State University, Northridge, will become division cabinet chair.
