Kennedy Library Foundation Benefitting from Sale of GI Jack Doll

Staff -- Library Journal, 2/28/2000

Just when you think you've heard it all comes this little tidbit: the Kennedy Library Foundation, Boston, may be getting an influx of extra funding from toy manufacturer Hasbro Inc., stemming from royalties for the sale of a GI Joe doll bearing the likeness of the late president. Hasbro told the Boston Globe that the GI JFK "will be the first of a number of Kennedy products" it plans to produce. The doll reportedly will be part of a new collector's line honoring our nation's military heroes. There is no word on how much the library foundation will reap from the sale of the $30 doll, although it is said to be "significant."
