ingenta Buys CARL Corp.'s UnCover Operation

British online document supplier ingenta has purchased CARL Corp.'s UnCover document delivery operation. Full terms of the purchase were unavailable at press time. The acquisition is proceeding apace despite UnCover's involvement in a lawsuit brought by numerous authors who claim the company sold articles without their permission. ingenta has also announced its intent to create new online services "for the U.S. research community." One proposed service is EasyLink, which the company says will allow librarians to create "title-level links from their library web page to the online journals, and seamless, full-text linking to MEDLINE."
