Akron PL Cites Lack of Local Content in Banning Pamphlet

An Akron, OH man has been rebuffed in his attempt to get the Akron-Summit County Public Library to allow distribution of a pamphlet from a white supremacist church, according to an article in the January 5 Akron Beacon-Journal. However, library officials did not cite the offensive content of the brochure from the World Church of the Creator but rather the fact that the church is located outside Akron in East Peoria, IL. Library officials said that Kenneth Molyneaux's addition of his e-mail address to the pamphlet does not qualify as local content; he is trying to start a local branch of the church.
